SCOTTISH WOKERY

The dismal article below describes just how much preening political correctness has not only deposed the intellect of the Scots, or at least the members of Glasgow's City Council, but has also distorted their view of history.

As someone who was educated in the tradition of the Scottish Renaissance, still alive and well in the 1950s and 60s, I consider this an unwelcome development much to be deprecated. It casts aside historical context and replaces it with supercharged virtue signaling peddled by emotional hemophiliacs with a disgusting racist and fascist agenda.

In the 112 years prior to Winston Churchill's state funeral in February of 1965 there had only been two state funerals accorded to non-royal personages. One was to the Duke of Wellington in 1852 and the other was to William Ewart Gladstone in 1898.

The Iron Duke, along with Field Marshall Blucher, won the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 forever destroying Napoleon's continental ambitions and permanently removing his threat of invading the British island something to which every subject of the Crown took violent exception.

William Ewart Gladstone was an historic force in British politics for over 60 years. He served as Prime Minister four times and as Chancellor of the Exchequer four times, the two great offices of state. He championed equality of opportunity and free trade. A 19th. Century liberal of thoroughbred Scottish ancestry he left an indelible mark upon Britain from Land's End to John O'Groats.

These are just two of the most famous public servants in the nation's history whose statues the Glasgow City Council are now thinking of removing from one of the oldest public squares in their storied city in order to appease racist anarchic thugs who wish to honor George Floyd, a vicious criminal with a rap sheet so long it wouldn't fit on to the side of a bus. Exploring the geography of their minds it becomes clear how a commitment to woke identity politics dulls their sense of contradiction. Thus do they progress.....well, not exactly.
