How Sharper Than A Sepent's Tooth It Is To Have a Thankless Child!

Nothing Meghan Markle or Prince Harry said in their interview with Oprah Winfrey broadcast last Sunday has altered the opinion I expressed in my short article below written in 2019.

However, I did learn two things from the interview, 1) Oprah is a far better actress than Meghan Markle and 2) Prince Harry is a far bigger dolt than I had thought. In 2005 he attended a Halloween party dressed in a Nazi uniform, but by trashing the royal family with accusations of racism he now thinks he is Captain Woke sadly, today, a far more desirable and impressive title than the one with which he was born.

To paraphrase Andrew Lang, the entire interview was used in much the same way as a drunk uses a lamppost, for support rather than illumination. Therein lies the membrane of deceit which Oprah displayed no interest in removing particularly when it would have exposed the spurious claims and determined narrative of victimhood an increasingly cherished status among the glitterati whose hydraulic grip upon it confers not merely sympathy but more importantly extremely generous and endless benefits just one of which, in this case, is a $100 million contract with NETFLIX not for any intrinsic talent or ability but for perfecting the art of ubiquitous whining.

The newly exalted Meghan Markle is one of the luckiest people on the face of the planet. She was a C-list actress of minor talent who stumbled into a British royal prince who was, is, incompetent with women just like his bat-eared, Muslim inclined father.

Although she was a Hollywood nonentity with a passion for all things Obama, Ms. Markle shrewdly played the value of her hand and quickly proceeded to suck Prince Harry in and blow him out in bubbles before he could say, "God Save The Queen."

Now sixth in line to the throne Prince Harry is a royal irrelevance and his wife is clearly so far out of her depth that she is positively waterlogged. Her interview was as self-serving as it was self-pitying and as unattractive as it was ungrateful. Whatever else is in her repertoire the words to, "Rule Britannia" are missing.
