If we were not in a similar situation of self-inflicted suicide the article posted below about the Canadian judicial system would act as a cautionary tale for the United States but in America Lady Justice has already cast aside her blindfold and firmly placed her foot on the scales of justice which she once held aloft in a display of resolute impartiality.
So, let me get this straight. In Canada if one is black, one is more likely to be arrested. If one is arrested one is more likely to go to jail. Guilt is irrelevant, intention is irrelevant, a criminal record is irrelevant. The impact of one's crime on the victim is not even a consideration. What is of overwhelming importance is the color of one's skin. It has become a convenient way of avoiding all personal responsibility for one's actions and a sure way to avoid a custodial sentence and sometimes prosecution. It is a get-out- of-trouble-card that can be played time after time. Catch and Release has become the Canadian judicial system's version of Whac-A-Mole. It reeks of white liberals seeking absolution for sins they didn't commit the consequence of which is a significant increase in crime and the lethal endangerment of public safety. Sound familiar?!
