On the Richter Scale of Bad Decisions this one registers at 1,000 !!
Our president is determined to invite Qatar to insinuate itself into our defense establishment. Yet, for decades Qatar has been the main financier of lethal attacks against Israel, our most faithful and intrepid ally in the region. It has also subverted every one of our institutions and many of our most prestigious universities with its billions of petrodollars. This pattern has been repeated in Europe where it targets not just institutions but also politicians and members of the media. Its eventual goal is the establishment of an Islamic caliphate and the destruction of western civilization and the Judeo/Christian ethic. It is as patient, cunning and lethal as its main ally and enthusiastic collaborator, the Muslim Brotherhood.
In 2017 Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain simultaneously severed their bilateral relations with Qatar and banned its aircraft and ships from utilizing their sovereign territory by air, sea and land thereby establishing a virtual blockade of the country. They accused Qatar of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the region.
What do these Gulf states know and understand about Qatar that our president chooses to ignore? The alarming answer to that question, I suspect, might even be enough to make Governor Pritzker throw up his third helping of desert.
