A few days ago on ABC the parsimonious Jimmy Carter confirmed just how tenuous his grip on reality has become with each passing year when he told Brian Williams ".....an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African-American” and “that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country.......”
This is an enormous and dreadful slander against the majority of Americans. The animosity towards Obama is because of his constant deceit and awful, destructive, policies not because of the pigmentation of his skin or the woeful circumstances of his paternity about which most Americans are indifferent. Many of those who voted for Obama are now coming out of the ether and are opposing his policies. They stand aghast at his fiscal profligacy and in disbelief at his appointees from those with the most radical if not disgraceful records of anti-American activities to tax cheats and anti-semites, his internationalism that is an assault on the Declaration of Independence, his weakening of our military readiness, and his attempts through Cap & Trade and Health Care Reform to spread the tentacles of government over every aspect of our national life. Is this because they have just discovered that he is black? When more than 94% of black voters cast their vote for Obama were they demonstrating racist tendencies by voting with such racial solidarity or had they been so hypnotised by his nebulous appeals for "Hope" and "Change" that their reason had been overcome by their imagination? What say you, Jimmy?
Jimmy Carter presided over interest rates that exceeded 19%, an unempoyment rate of 7.5%, an inflation rate of 13.5%, a hostage crisis in Iran that lasted for 440 days, a botched rescue attempt and a failed foreign policy towards Iran and the Middle East from which we still suffer today. No wonder he is a darling of the Islamofascists. He is the most discredited and weakest president we have had since the end of World War II although he may not enjoy that distinction for much longer. Most of his pronouncements are an instant sedative but like some old actor he suddenly comes to life whenever he feels the glow of the spotlight upon him. His constant and anxious need to latch onto some cause or phenomenon in order to give himself some relevance upon the national or world stage is becoming increasingly embarrasssing particularly since he has become a "useful idiot" for the enemies of America. His reputation is beyond all redemption. "Ambition creeps as well as soars", wrote Burke. It's time for Jimmy to creep back home and read a good book. This, of course, would not be one of his own.

ReplyDeleteI could not disagree with you more. You and I are polar opposites when it comes to our political views and whom we respect and admire. However, I do love a talented writer. And you sir, are exceptional. As gifted a writer as you are, I think you are an even better speaker. We may disagree about the subject matter but I can still appreciate the quality of the writing. Congratulations Paul! It seems you have found your calling…..I myself will continue to respect and admire President Jimmy Carter as a man of compassion and concern for the less fortunate. I don't think that all Americans who challenge President Obama’s policies and disagree with what he stands for feel that way because he is a black man. But,I myself know far too many bigots and racists who may not be outwardly prejudice but they are nonetheless upset about a black man as our President. I think President Carter was right on the money. In this country, racism is still alive and kicking. That’s the sad truth of my world.
Beyonce and Jayzee are THE MOST influcencial people with the majority of the U.S. population - they are both black. Oprah is one of the wealthiest women in the country and she is black. Obama may be black, but was only elected because his campaign brainwashed the country, even without substance a black man because President. Only a man with dementia who has already sold his soul, and besmirched the previously honored title of 'past president' for oil dollars could make such a obviously ignorant comment.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Leslie that Paul is a very talented writer and speaker. However, I disagree with her characterization of the Man from Plains as being compassionate and concerned. Harvard Prof. Alan Dershowitz hit the mark when he called Jimmy a coward, hypocrite and bully for writing an anti-Semitic book and then refusing to debate anyone when visiting campuses. May your tribe increase, Paul!
ReplyDeleteLeslie Ferrera Rueles:
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you live in a world with so "...many bigots and racists who may not be outwardly prejudice (sic) but they are nonetheless upset about a black man as our President". I'd suggest you move or find new friends.
Oh and by the way, how are you able to divine what a person's inner prejudices are? Is it some God given talent or is it a talent that God gave only to Liberals? Because it seems to me that it's always Liberals throwing the "R" bomb around willy nilly. I always know I've won an argument when the countering liberal uses the last Weapon of Mass Stupidity, the unprovable "R" bomb to negate my observations which are always supported by "hard facts". Truth is a stubborn thing.
Save your letter to Paul (he is a brilliant writer, on that we agree)and re-read it, 1, 2 or 3 years from now when your fair haired leader (OOOPS, does that make me a racist? too) brings this country to it's knees.
Leslie:
ReplyDeleteLiberals should be open to new ideas, right? Read Michelle Malkin's book "Culture of Corruption" (supported by 75 pages of footnotes) then tell me what you think of BHO. You may then understand that the resentment and push back to BHO is not due to the "color of his skin but (to) the content of his character" as MLK Jr. so beautifully put it. To all of us who aspire to a society that does not see race, religion or gender, you and I should be most worried that this particular President's voluminous lies and deceit, covered up by the soon to be Fawning & Complicit Fringe Media, followed by his unavoidably ruinous financial, domestic and foreign policies will guarantee that he will unfortunately not only be the first but that he will also be the last African American President. What a wasted opportunity!
